This enchanting Marathi restaurant captures the vibrant essence of Mumbai's street food culture, offering a delightful and authentic culinary experience that’s hard to find anywhere else in North America.

The decor may be modest, but it is filled with the love and care of its family-run owners, Uncle Vithal and Aunty Geeta, who ensure that every guest feels like part of the family. It's a place where the aroma of traditional spices mingles with the friendly chatter of this inviting eatery, making each visit feel like coming home.

The menu is a tribute to classic Maharashtrian dishes, with the Classic Vadapav stealing the show. Priced at just CA$9.79, this mouthwatering delicacy features a perfectly spiced, deep-fried potato dumpling nestled within a soft bread bun, accompanying a green fried chili that adds a delightful kick. Diners rave about the Puran Poli and Amti, a sweet stuffed roti that promises a rich, flavorful taste that’s perfect alongside the spicy dishes. No visit is complete without sampling their exquisite sweets, including the traditional Sheer Jaggery (Suji Halwa) and heavenly Shrikhand, a creamy yogurt dessert infused with saffron and nuts that delights the palate.

The beverages on offer also reflect the Marathi heritage, with Masala Chai, the Mumbai-style chai, available for just CA$3.20, creating a perfect complement to any meal. The refreshing Taak (buttermilk) and Kokam drinks further highlight the authentic experience, ensuring you have a taste of something that captures the spirit of Maharashtra.

Vadapav Mirchi by Geeta has a homely vibe with friendly and welcoming owners, which really adds to the experience. The decor is quite nice, though the space is a bit cramped, especially considering the premium pricing. The food was good overall. I really liked the Puranpoli and Amti — rich and flavorful, though a little too heavy on the ghee for my taste. Sabudana Vada and Thalipeeth were decent, and the Poori Shrikhand was definitely a highlight. It’s a charming little spot, but the pricing feels on the higher side given the location and limited space. Worth a visit if you’re craving Maharashtrian flavors, just be prepared for a tight seating setup.

Food is very authentic and tasty, made and served with lot of love. Vada pav , missal pav and modak were outstanding. Owners ( uncle and aunty) were very welcoming, great attention to detail and added personal touch in their food and great hospitality. Vrinda was our server ,took very good care of us , gave excellent recommendations, was very warm and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for some home cooked authentic food.

I visited Vada Pao Mirchi recently and really liked it. The food tasted just like Mumbai street food — spicy and full of flavor! The place was clean and neat, and the food felt fresh and healthy. If you love Indian snacks, you should try this place. I will definitely go again!

⭐ A Hidden Gem – Feels Like Home VadaPav Mirchi by Geeta is one of those rare places that instantly makes you feel like you’ve walked into someone’s home, not a restaurant. It’s family-owned and run, and you can feel the love in both the food and the way they treat you. I’m so glad a friend recommended this spot to me. It’s unlike any other Indian restaurant I’ve been to anywhere in Canada. The food isn’t restaurant-style, it’s true homemade Marathi food, the kind that brings comfort, nostalgia, and joy in every bite. The Puran Poli and the Modak brought me straight back to my childhood days... Oh my god, they were sooo delicious. Perfectly made, perfectly balanced, it was like being back at a family celebration. The owners are incredibly warm and genuine. They’ll sit and chat with you like you’re an old friend, and you can tell they take real pride in sharing their culture through food. It’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after the meal is over. Highly, highly recommend if you're looking for real regional Indian flavors, made with care, and served with heart.

Absolutely LOVED this place. We were told this is the only restaurant of its kind, serving this type of cuisine from Mumbai, in all of North America! We weren't sure what to order, so we asked our server what she would recommend. She was very passionate about her suggestions so we went with ALL of them! We were later told that staff is encouraged to try the different food items so they can give their opinions. We were so glad we followed her advice, since every single bite was incredible. It was also well priced for what you're getting! Definitely a place to come back to often.

Maharashtrian cuisine with authentic dishes. The eggplant bhaji and missal pav were delicious. Update: we went a second time during Ganesh Chaturthi and had really delicious Puram poli amti, Vada pav and sabudana vada.

Vada Pav Mirchi is a true taste of Maharashtra. If you're Marathi, it feels like coming home. And if you've never had the pleasure of visiting Maharashtra, this place offers a delightful cultural tour through food. Vithal Batule and Geeta have gone above and beyond to make dining here a complete experience. It's not just about the food—the entire ambience is thoughtfully curated. From the cutlery and murals to the artwork and even the calendar on the wall, everything reflects Marathi culture. Naturally, the namesake dish, Vada Pav, deserves praise—it’s excellent. But even more impressive is the variety of offerings rarely found in most Indian restaurants. You don’t need to be a food critic to appreciate their cooking. You just need to know what good food tastes like. Excellent all around—definitely worth the trip!

Absolute authentic taste of Maharashtra! The food of this place is just as amazing as the story of the restaurant. Our server RJ was great! When you’re here. Please make sure to try the vada pav( roasted) version, pav bhaji, puran poli along with a nice glass of butter milk (chaas). The restaurant staff handled the fully booked tables brilliantly while delivering top quality food. That’s no easy task. These guys have delivered us the best quality meal with best quality service.
